Hi, thanks for sharing and open-sourcing this project.
I noticed that the repository hasn’t had much recent activity,
and I’m not sure if it’s still being actively maintained.
Recently, I’ve been working with this core and fixed a number of
bot-related issues and performance problems locally,
but I haven’t submitted any changes to the repository yet.
The fixes include:
- Bot data generation fixes (all classes, randomized levels and currency, including Monk, Death Knight, Demon Hunter)
- Login appearance checks for Demon Hunter and other classes
- Bot online count not being read from the .conf file
- Formation commands causing bots to run off incorrectly
- Group invite issues where bots reported “player not found”
- Bots not engaging in combat, not retaliating, or idling
- Bot talents not being learned or activated
- A new “crowd actor” bot mode with performance optimizations
(bots only load and operate near real players)
- Optional bot level sync with party leader (set by .conf)
- Transmog data request issues causing player login freezes
- Restored pre-combat buff behavior similar to 3.3.5
- Automatic resurrection and summon-based revival for bots
- Server performance optimizations (bots no longer save buffs or spell cooldowns)
- Bots overlapping with each other after joining a group
- Added a 3.3.5-style PlayerBot client addon for player-side bot control
If the project is still maintained, I’d be happy to submit these changes
as a pull request or share the patches in any preferred format.
Thanks again for the original work on this project.
