I think we can do the question block thing a little easier than I initially thought. The syntax might be a little iffy, but i think you can pass a sink of functions as first class "objects".

You'd have to pass them as a callback with the body being a call to the function we want, but I think its probably the best way to achieve psuedo-polymorphism like that

I would like to hear a bit more from you @ClarissaMilligan to know what you would actually want this function to do, other than being a logical grouping. I know we at one point talked about having it change the numbering to like I, II, instead of 23, 24, etc. That might be a little trickier with how the question state is managed, but definitely possible

With what you have above, would that work with code blocks too? And yeah I think ideally there is some form of sub-numbering. I think the majority of the time this will be used is with a code block and then a set of questions relating to it. Something like (not sold on the numbering but just something akin to this):

1. Use the code block below to answer the following questions:

public class Main {
     public static void main (String[] args) {
          System.out.println("Hello World");
     }
}

 1A. What is being printed out? (2 pts)

       a. Hello
       b. Hello World
       c. Goodbye
       d. Nothing


 1B. What is the time complexity of the code above? (2 pts) ___________

Yeah it would still work. I'd wanna pass the first argument as content and not string, but that should be fine.

To get this to work, the actually thing that gets rendered is passed in a callback, and then in the question-block function, you just iterate thru the sink and execute all of the functions dynamically.
