`toggle-popover` buttons can't close a popover

The issue that I misdiagnosed in #61. When I open the demo page in Safari, click on "Toggle popover" (popover appears), then click on "Toggle popover" again, the popover remains on screen. The reason is because clicking away is causing the popover to close, but the button then brings it right back
