a simple repo that had a frequent automated commit by github.
I wanted to squash (initially over 6000 commits) by selecting the commits in "All Commits", right clicking and chosing "Squash into Parent ..."
However I found even select 500 causes the same issue. Fork crashes / closes without warning.
Ideally show a warning of maximum number of commits that can be squash, or improve memory allc or/and management to handle 1000s of commits.
