The rotating cages from Metropolis Zone aren't super complicated. You have an animation controlled by a timer which also controls a sin wave which controls the player's y position. Connection to the gimmick occurs when you touch the bottom of the cage and persists until you exit left or right or if you jump. When you jump you gain no y speed and instead basically just initiate a fall. Aaaand that's pretty much all there is to it. Very simple gimmick. As for the pinball flipper, it's described in the physics guide. Biggest difference is just in how we set up the collider. |
