Feature description
Hello and thank you for your great work on NewPipe.
Currently, there is an option to send a video to Kodi, which is very convenient. However, I noticed that there is no way to play a video on other systems or devices (e.g., Chromecast, Apple TV, DLNA, Sonos, or any other UPnP‑compatible network player).
It’s a bit frustrating not being able to leverage various streaming protocols to different devices.
Suggestion:
Would it be possible to add a generic “External playback” option that could send the video/audio stream to other receivers? For instance, using the Android Cast API (for Chromecast) or a share menu that relies on installed third‑party apps (like BubbleUPnP, VLC, etc.).
Why do you want this feature?
This would bring great flexibility and make NewPipe even more complete for users who have multiple types of devices.
Thanks in advance for your consideration, and keep up the excellent work on this project.
