Summary
Three related issues with the current Reference Details panel, identified during the 2026-06-18 collection management showcase.
Issues
1. Title uses raw expression as identity
The panel title displays the raw submitted expression — not a meaningful identity. It "keeps you guessing" what the reference is.
2. Attribute table is incomplete
The attribute table shows only transform and cascade parameters. It should show a full structured breakdown of all reference attributes, including the expression itself.
3. Narrative Summary mixed with attributes
The Narrative Summary (e.g. "include latest concept from Source X") is currently surfaced alongside the attribute table. It is a human-readable interpretation of the reference, not an attribute. It should have its own dedicated sub-panel, clearly separated from the attribute table.
Desired structure
- Attributes table — all structured fields (expression, cascade params, transform params, etc.)
- Narrative Summary sub-panel — the natural-language description of what the reference means
